A New President!

The Inauguration of President Barack Obama was the event of the day.  I can't believe I missed most of it, but I did get to catch the end of President Obama's speech.  Please pray for him, as he (and us) know the changes he wants to make in this country won't happen overnight.  He has a plan for this country, so just pray that he will seek God's Will, as he is a professed believer.

I also have to say how adorable I thought President Bush was.  I missed his speech, but watched as he let Mr. Obama lead by just a half-step as they walked together, greeting the press, family and friends.  He seemed very respectful.

The Obama family looked so proud.  It was so cool to see this inauguration occur one day after Martin Luther King Day.  I'm not sure, but I believe I saw his (Obama's) parents during the speeches, if I'm not mistaken; father, a black man and the mother a white woman.  Pretty cool.  I think that says even more if he had two African-American parents.  It proves how far the people in America have come and are coming.

Even if you are a Republican, even if you disagree with some of the issues of the new President of the United States, you still have to be happy about this moment in history.  There will never be a president of this country that you agree completely with.  Not even if the person of your choice "wins," you will never agree on every single level.  So let's support our new President today!  Be proud of your country.  Thank the former President for his dedication and personal prayers, and move on to praying for your new leader!

"Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near... For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah."  Isaiah 55:6, 8

So- His parents are actually dead- but his father was an African from Kenya and his mother was a white lady from Kansas, hence "Kenya-Kansas hybrid."
