Prank War

It's a good day.  I have my Jelly Belly shirt on.  Nivea keeps getting lots of kisses via the Ellen DeGeneres Show, which in turn is giving a lot of money to donate to those affected by Hurricane Katrina, so kudos to that.  I have my delicious coffee sent straight from my grandmother's coffee makin' shop, poured into my favorite "Nightmare Before Christmas" mug, which makes me think of my favorite composer, Danny Elfman, and my favorite director, Tim Burton.  I'm sitting by a fire (the contained kind) with my little girlie black mop of a dog.  It's good.  It's gooooood.

So my husband and I watched a Best Pranks Ever type of show yesterday, and realized that's one of our favorite things about the difference in tv and real life.  Stuff you want to see happen on television isn't necessarily something you think of in actuality.  So anyway, I want you to have a great weekend, so once again, here's a video to get your weekend started off in a fun way!

Clips from my favorite show, and my favorite characters:

Losing Jobs

So I'm watching the tele today, and I saw a "spot" on a news show about people losing their jobs, and strategies to try to get back in the market, even if its moving on to a different field than you were previously in.

It's getting tough for everyone out there.  I know it's been hard, and getting harder everyday, for every type of job out there.  Whether it be a large franchise, to a small business that's been around forever, from Broadway to news anchors... it's happening everywhere.

It may even be difficult for you to hear this right now, to look on the bright side of things when it seems so "dark" and hopeless and questionable out there, but you really must press on.  There is someone out there that is looking out for us.  Someone greater than any man.  Someone who has been around longer than anyone you know.  Someone who knows how the world works, inside and out.  Someone who is not looking out for themselves first.  On the contrary, it's someone who has always put you first.

And that someone will never change.  That someone will continue to put you first.  This difficult time in America is no challenge.  Nicodemus, a prominent leader among the Jews, said to Jesus, "Rabbi, we all know you're a teacher straight from God.  No one could do all the God-pointing, God-revealing acts you do if God weren't in it."

"All these God-signs he had given them, and they still didn't get it, still wouldn't trust him...  Their eyes are blinded, their hearts are hardened, so that they wouldn't see with their eyes and perceive with their hearts..."  John 12:37-40

No matter how much God has done for us, we still find ways to doubt Him.  If you believe God's Word, The Holy Bible, then you have to believe ALL of it.  Even this:

"For I know the plans I have for you... to give you a future and a hope."  Jeremiah 29:11

Believe in whole, or not at all!  I choose to have hope.  What else do you have?

Email me here: tk@2911theplan.com so I can pray for your job search today.

Delicious Giveaway

So I drop by Panera today since its on my way home. I hardly ever am in a place that has one. So I order my food, the lady says, "our coffee is free today. Cups are over there." "Thanks," I say. Right before I give her my card she says, "Would you like a free strawberry parfait sample too?" Um, yeah.

This business is doing well here. They are in a place where they can give to others. Sure, it helps promote their selections, but they are still able to give.

I want to be able to do that, don't you? Not out of personal promotion, but to just give. I think if we look at what we've got, we all could. Maybe not even something tangible, but perhaps just a word of advice, or a bit of yourself even.

Remember how Panera makes you feel when you're there. Be that warm atmosphere.

Always a metaphor...

Shake, Rattle and Roll!

"Shake it, baby, shake!" " Shake your groove thing." "Shake rattle and roll!"

"Shake it" is one of my favorite phrases.  It just makes me all happy and giddy inside.  Doesn't it you?  Not only do I like to say it, but I like to do it!  I love to dance!  Anytime I'm happy about something, I shake it.  What is the "it," I'm not really sure, but I love to do it anyway!  ;)

I can most relate to David more than any other character in the bible.  I know there's someone in there that we all relate to best.  I think, if he were alive today, we would've been buddies.  And I know that there is someone in the bible who is like that for you, that brings reality and life to words of a character on a page.  If you haven't found that person in the bible for you, maybe you should start your own little search.

I also think we relate to everyone in God's Mighty Word at some point in our lives.  Just like God put bible characters into His Word for your own benefit, He also put people "now" into your lives for your own benefit.  Glean off of everyone around you.  Even those with bad attitudes.  Learn from them, shepherd them, pray for them.  'Cause somewhere else, someone is doing the same for you.  I know you don't think it, but we do irk some people's nerves at times.  I may be irking yours at this very moment!  I pray that I'm not though.  But we are at all different stages of life, and we all reach them all at different times, and in different orders.

Think about that today as you are looking for some guidance, someone to look to.  Find that "other half" of you in the bible, and read about their stories and how God either honored them or didn't, according to the actions they did, or perhaps didn't, take.

I pray God's guidance and blessing and clarification on you today!

Love ya much, Tara K

Circus

My hubby and I went with Aaron Daniel and his lovely wife, Jenny, (along with another couple) to the circus this weekend. I didn't know what to expect, & was pleasantly surprised. It was so great. My favorite part waa the wiener dog act. No joke. Wiener dogs at the circus. They followed that lil girl around like a... well.. a dog, actually. There were so many great things about the show, and I recommend the Ringling Bros. to everyone.

That has to be a fun and exciting life. But being on the road like that is probably hard.. Unlike music artists and athletes and others who travel a lot, it seems they never have a permenant place to call home for a very lengthy period of time.

We're all meant for different things though, ya know? They would probably be so bored with our daily lives, don't ya think?

You ever imagine what it must be like to really be in someone else's shoes? Someone who is totally in the opposite end of the spectrum? You start to envision how comfortable we become in who we 'are,' don't we? It's kind of weird to think that we have all these possibilities, and we chose this particular path. And yet, we're somehow comfortable with those choices, aren't we? I have a peace about my life. A somewhat uncertainty of what the future holds as we are, after all, not God, but we are happy that we're (insert name here).

And God is too. He likes who you are. He loves who you are. And He still wants us to become even more of who we are through Him.

Live out "you" today!

One More Again

Hey guys.  I know I've sent you a link to this little preacher already, but I just can't get him off my mind.  This is a two-part series.  I know they are a little less than 10 minutes long, but just watch them both.

Hope this starts your weekend off right!  Bless you guys!  "Don't give up!  Never give in!  Just wait on the Lord."

David and Goliath (Thanks, Jim)

I was up early, can you tell?  ;)  Hat, fleece shirt, pony tail, just mascara...  Oh yeah.  Before 9 is a little early for me.  But I had a wonderfully full breakfast.  I got full of food and lots of coffee (and amount of coffee was definitely as a result from the 7:45 wake-up).  And I also got full of spirit, peace, energy, and what I really need, assurance.  God is so cool.

Yesterday, I saw the attached video below, which reminds me of the story of David and Goliath.  Fighting the giants in the name of the Lord no matter your age, your size or your position.  I was really excited and inspired, but to tell you the honest truth, I didn't think that much more about it the rest of the day.

Then that night at choir practice, one of my friends led us in a devotion.  His story didn't start out with David and Goliath, but you bet it ended with it.  ;)  Um... I'm guessing that God was really wanting me to hear that message, don't you think?

So I understand it on an inspirational level, and I am seeing what He wants me to do as a result of hearing, but I still need to learn the depths of what He is trying to say to me (and everyone) through the story.  Sure, we can get it on that sudden-high level, but I want to live it every day!  I want to feel that strength all the time!  Don't you?

Well, the good news is, we will never get to full spiritual and biblical-knowledge maturity.  Never.  Not until the day we finally see His beautiful face in heaven!  So we can keep seeking, keep going deeper into those familiar stories.  We can keep finding unspeakable joy daily.  It's there.  YOU ARE BLESSED!  Rejoice in it today!  Don't take it for granted!  He loves you!

...And so do I;)

Keep All This Commandment; Blessing and Curse

"For if ye shall diligently keep all this commandment which I  command you, to do it, to love Jehovah your God, o walk in all his was, and to cleave unto him; then will Jehovah drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.  Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours...  There shall no man be able to stand before you:  Jehovah your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath spoken unto you.

"Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:  the blessing, if ye shall hearken unton the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I command you this day; and the curse, if ye shall not hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known."

A New President!

The Inauguration of President Barack Obama was the event of the day.  I can't believe I missed most of it, but I did get to catch the end of President Obama's speech.  Please pray for him, as he (and us) know the changes he wants to make in this country won't happen overnight.  He has a plan for this country, so just pray that he will seek God's Will, as he is a professed believer.

I also have to say how adorable I thought President Bush was.  I missed his speech, but watched as he let Mr. Obama lead by just a half-step as they walked together, greeting the press, family and friends.  He seemed very respectful.

The Obama family looked so proud.  It was so cool to see this inauguration occur one day after Martin Luther King Day.  I'm not sure, but I believe I saw his (Obama's) parents during the speeches, if I'm not mistaken; father, a black man and the mother a white woman.  Pretty cool.  I think that says even more if he had two African-American parents.  It proves how far the people in America have come and are coming.

Even if you are a Republican, even if you disagree with some of the issues of the new President of the United States, you still have to be happy about this moment in history.  There will never be a president of this country that you agree completely with.  Not even if the person of your choice "wins," you will never agree on every single level.  So let's support our new President today!  Be proud of your country.  Thank the former President for his dedication and personal prayers, and move on to praying for your new leader!

"Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near... For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah."  Isaiah 55:6, 8

Start With One

Dudes!  It's snowing today!  How pretty can it get?!  And I'm even more excited because I'm enjoying it from the indoors.  My little doggie is sittin' beside me, warm as can be.  My hubby made a fantastico french toast breakfast.  We have (almost) a whole day to do whatever we need and want to do.  So we watched a kid movie, watched The View, had breakfast, took pics of the snow, and now we're off to do a little bit of "work."

I know we just talked about this Friday, well... at least, I think that's what day we talked about it...  But I wanted to talk a little more on your so-called jobs, what you do for a living.  Isn't that a crazy phrase: "What you do for a living."  When you meet someone, you have the casual, "My name is so and so."  "Oh, hi, so and so.  What do you do?"  What?!  What do I do?  You mean, right now?  What am I doing?  Or do you mean, what do I do about this issue or that issue?  Oh, you must mean, what do I do about changing the world?  No?  Oh, then I guess you must mean, what do I do for a job...  right?  Of course.  Well, I'm a dentist, a mom, a receptionist, a farmer, a restaurant owner and the waitress, retired...  What we do on a daily basis as our "job" should be nothing but.  Every "job" that people have is important.  Even if you are the guy who nobody ever sees, in the background.  And you should strive to do your very very best at the "job."  But you wanna know your real job?  The people there.  They are what's important.  The people you come in contact with.  Are we saying, "Hello.  How are ya," just out of courtesy?  I have to admit, I say that a lot, out of habit, and I'm not really sure if I truly mean it.  Do you?  You don't really wanna take those 5 extra minutes out of your day to really find out if someone has a missing link, or if they need a listening ear, do we?  I'm just not so sure anymore.

Wasn't that Jesus' whole "job?"  His purpose?  The people?  Jesus would've never have gotten anything accomplished if He didn't mean it when He asked, "How are you?"

So when you get to your "job" today, just start with one.  It seems a little overwhelming to change your world and your supposed way of life overnight.  But if we wanna grow as a person for a greater purpose, to leave a mark when we leave this earth, just start with one.  Next week, add someone else.  You might just start loving everyone around you, finding less to be so agitated about.

Shalom, my friends, Tara K

Lemon bars

So here I am at this cute lil coffee shop in the mall, and of course, I have to have some sweetness. Lemon bars and coffee do the trick. Know what else is sweet? The fact that although Jesus was a carpenter, we know absolutely nothing about any of the projects He made. We know nothing about any amazing piece of art that He designed, nada. I believe that this is on purpose. The fact that we know nothing about Jesus' career is relevant in the fact that it's not.

Your job is not important. Your relationships are. That's what we know about Jesus. His whole ministry was based on people. Not beautiful sculptures He carved for God's glory. Just people. Remember that. Even if you have a job that allows you to bless His name through it, your priority should be your relationships with people there.

Who Knew? (Thank you, P!nk)

Who knew?  Who knew that 3 hours of sleep wouldn't hit you until a day later.  And boy does it hit?  Who knew that you would be online talking to people all over the world 20 years ago, reading their blogs, keeping up with old friends, or even someone you just talked to 5 minutes ago...?  Who knew that you would have the job you have right now when, as a little kid, you thought you'd either be a prince or princess?  Who knew you would have kids at this age... or not have kids at this age?  Who knew, 10 years ago,  you would live where you do now, in that state, in that city, with these people even? ;D

I'll tell ya who.  God.  The only One who could've seen all this comin'.  Hee hee.  I was listening to P!nk's song, "Who Knew," today, and it got me to thinkin'.  I mean, in one point in your life, didn't you think, "Yup.  I'm gonna marry that dude/chick.  They're the one for me.  Definitely."  And you didn't end up with that person, did you?  Yeah I thought that a few times.  That was until I really did meet that right person, and thought I was ridiculous for thinking there was anyone else for me but him.

Life is a lot like that.  We seem to have these dreams, goals, ideas, perceptions, etc.  But then we find and discover these new things that seem to replace the old, and find the truth, the real reality.

I challenge you today to discover.  Find your true happiness.  Find it without drowning yourself in distractions; be sober in all ways possible when searching.

I pray you find it today!

This is only a test

Hey guys! I'm trying out my first post from my phone. Let's hope this works!

Well right now, I'm sitting in the waiting room, waiting... Like you do... In a waiting room... My friend is having shoulder surgery today. He broke a part of his shoulder in 2007 being crucified while portraying Jesus in a musical theater show we did on a 6-day a week basis. And he is just now getting around to having it worked on. He been working so hard and for so long, and he now has a small break before he is directing and acting again, so now is the time to get it done! He also has fibromyalgia. He is such a great testimony of faith in suffering! Please pray or him today, and remember the story of Job, especially if you are going through trials yourself. God considered Job his número uno. Above David and all the other men who had great accomplishments. Job's bigggest testimony was not when he was at the top, but to us, in the future, to know how God percieves those of quiet strength in faith.

And in the words of someone special just said, there's no such thing as short-term history (-Pres. Bush.) Job didn't see the people he was gonna bless through his suffering, but he blessed God's name in the midst of it. That's where you are rewarded. Not when you can see, but when you have nothing but faith!

Bless you all, Tara K

Important Info for All

(Perhaps what it was like when Jesus was in the garden with His angel as she  releases Him to the world to die for our sins.)

Hey everyone!  I have a few words of encouragement to you today.  They actually come from my notes I took from my pastor on Sunday night...

I'm just gonna come to an abrupt start.  Here we go:  Always keep in the forefront of your mind that the enemy has a plan to destroy everything that is of God.  Imagine what the spiritual world might look like.  I personally believe that it is probably a constant battlefield.  But the biggest battlefield occurs where?  In your mind.  But we have been given some really wise advice and information.

Jesus said that all the things in the Lord's Prayer is critical.  All of it.  Every single word.  I think it's so cool that it even says to not even let us be tempted; to lead us from the enemy.  Basically, you can pray for God to keep you from even being tempted.  That's pretty cool, and I'm sure, pretty powerful and healthy for every aspect of your life.

The bible also tells us that the enemy is a murderer, who has no sympathy.  He has a plan to destroy.  He is a liar, a deceiver.  He was once the star of the morning, but he chose to take on God.  He will find the weak ones.  He will also find our weak spots.  He's very patient.  His lies will captivate you, but the truth will bring you real freedom; this freedom you've been looking for in your search to discover who you are.

So in order to resist and fight against him, we must put on the full armor!  We need our spiritual armor on all day!  We need to understand his schemes.  This is for real, people.  I know this sounds almost ancient or surreal.  But it is the truth.  And how can you do this?  You must pray on that armor.  Pray for the protection in your mind, to receive the Truth.

Those of you who hear that little tiny itsy bitsy doubt in the tiniest back part of your mind that wonders whether or not, "well, PERHAPS there is a God who really loves me like this so-called "holy" bible says..."  This is not a lie.  God really does love you.  Don't feel ashamed that you think this is a possibility, no matter what you believe and feel is logical.  The enemy is very good at what he does, so don't think that you cannot be deceived.  Even Jesus' mother doubted Him at one point.  Yeah.  Mary.  The woman who saw an angel, became pregnant by a spirit, was ridiculed during her pregnancy (and no doubt her entire life from then on) just because of Jesus.  Yeah, her.  SHE even doubted Jesus.  So don't think you are smarter than that.  It's not about being smarter, or right, or not important enough for this so-called enemy to want to destroy your life.  He wants everyone.  He was destroyed, so he wants everyone else to go down with him.

I put this in your ear because I really do love ya, and for no other reason.

-Tara K

President Bush

I am so proud and happy today.  Elated, even.  Here I am, sitting in my most comfortable, favorite sweater drinking some delicious souped-up coffee and turtle biscotti.  Already, the day could be somewhat perfect.  But not only that, I also had a great time talking to God today, a somewhat continuance of our prayer and praise service last night at church.  So lovely.  (And yes, I know that's a "dainty" kind of word, but it seems to be the only one I can find to be appropriate enough.)

I also just had a great lunch with my hubby... fish sticks and macaroni.  Gotta love it.

And you know something I found extra beautiful today?  President Bush's speech.  I don't know if you got to see it or not, but I was so proud of him.  I am so proud to have had a president that, I believe, was constantly on his knees in prayer for his country.  I am so proud of how safe we have become in our country since the tragedy of 9/11, no matter how much advantage we seem to have taken from the safety we have been given.  I was so proud of Mr. President in how he spoke the truth behind his motives for his time in office, for the determination he has, and for the obvious background of faith that he has shown by fighting for us in so many ways, and relentlessly at that.  He never gave up.  Way to go, Mr. President.

I am also excited to welcome yet another person into the oval office.  He will have a tough road ahead of him, as did President Bush, so we must be in prayer for him as well.

Please pray for your country and its leaders today as they are transitioning into a new stage, which is always scary, but also thrilling.  Pray for their family life too.  Transition is always hard on a family, no matter if you're moving up or stepping down.

God bless you, and our protected America.

Be Cool

We've discussed "Christianese" or the "Christian Lingo" here on 29:11's blogs before.  If you missed out on that blog, my basic definition of Christianese is this: people using lingo either common in the church or the bible, and perhaps sometimes just saying the words rather than truly meaning them or using them in the correct situation and/or time.  And I just wanted to bring it up again today because I still find myself getting annoyed by it.  Let me start off with my story:

Today I was going through some stuff and found some "Christianese" that felt so out of place to me.  I don't want to tell you what it said, etc., but basically someone was using a lot of words they learned from years of being in church, knowing just what to say to either make people feel sorry for them or by choosing just the right words to prove how righteous they are trying to be...  And I almost emailed it to my husband just to prove to him how aggravating it was, and to ask him what I should do about it.  Another situation I constantly go through is when people use their Christianese just a little louder than necessary just to make sure everyone heard what they said, how righteous they were proving to be.

I gotta tell ya, stuff like that can really eat at me.  Above all else, being "fake" always seems so easy to see through, and it's one of those things I'd love to just get a knife, cut around it, and get to the real person so that I can know who they really are.  But you know what?  I don't need to email that to anyone to ask for their opinion on the subject.  I need to ask my God for guidance.  His guidance is the advice above all advice.  And you know what else?  I found a cool little verse today that helped me out.  I don't need to get disgusted over it, and I don't need to think another thought on it.  Yes, I need to make sure I don't make those choices, but at the same time... well.  Just listen to these verses:

"...It is certainly not good to... beat a noble [person] for his honesty.  The intelligent person restrains his words, and one who keeps a cool head is a man of understanding.  Even a fool is considered wise when he keeps silent, discerning, when he seals his lips."  Proverbs 17:26-28

Pretty great, eh?  Honesty.  But remember, there's a big difference between honesty and unkind words and jealousy.  You are considered wise if you just keep silent!  Hallelujah!  And to answer my dilemma, to be a person of understanding, I just need to keep a cool head.  Is that not what God wants so much of us- to just be?  To relax and not worry, not get all tied up in silly stuff?  So what if other people annoy you or even give you those not-so-nice backhanded comments, even if it happens constantly.  Forget it.  Be cool.  I think it is so stinkin' awesome that the bible says to be cool.  Love it.  Rock it!

Peace my people!

Pretend

As an actor, I love to fall into a new character, discover quirks and qualities, etc.  But I was wondering...  As what most actors call "normal people with their heads on straight," do you like to sometimes pretend?  Do you like to imagine new possibilities, goals and dreams?  Do you like to create new projects like painting, dancing, writing music, singing, playing an instrument or perhaps all of the above?

Well you know, if you secretly do, don't hide it.  And don't think that just because you haven't had professional training in those areas, God doesn't care.  If you wanna create something, then just do it.  Think of all that God created.  He is THE Creator.  And He created you to create as well.  So express yourself!  Find a new way to worship God if you're bored with the old; bring in a new fresh idea to the table!

"And David DANCED before the Lord with all his might!" II Samuel 6:14

"SING to the Lord, all the earth.  Proclaim His salvation from day to day." I Chronicles 16:23

"Our Lord and God, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, because You have CREATED all things, and because of Your will they exist and were created."  Revelation 4:11

"And David and all the house of Israel PLAYED before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals"  II Samuel 6:5

"In the beginning God CREATED the heaven and the earth." Genesis 1:1

The first thing we know of that He did was what?  Create!

I pray you find lots of joy in creating new and exciting adventures for your life today!  -Tara K

Don't Let It All Out

Why is it that we tend to hurt those whom we love the most?  It always seems so typical and easy for us to take our frustrations out on those we love.  Why do we do that?  Is it just because we seem to be so comfortable with them that we can just let it all out?  Well, personally, I just don't think that's a good enough excuse.

I dunno.  Maybe that's a kind of New Year's Resolution that I could have.  What do you think?  Doesn't that seem like such a good idea?  Doesn't that seem like an even better goal than to be better successfully in your career or keeping your house in a better order?  The idea of making someone else's year sounds pretty great to me.

Just a thought.

King David in PF

Hey guys.  Last night we sang "Victory in Jesus" and "You" at KING DAVID in the Magic Beyond Belief Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  So sorry we weren't able to let you know about it beforehand, but it was last minute.

It was such a blessed event.  Our dear friend, David Sanborn, played King David, along with every other character involved in King David's life... yes.  All by himself.  It's a one-man show.  And it was like nothing I'd ever seen on stage before.  And I thought I'd seen it all.  This will soon be an Off-Broadway production, so stand by for those dates;  I'll try to let you know when that is.

We were so excited to get to share our music, the music that God has given to us.  Thank you to those of you that supported us with your donations/cd sales.  As someone has told me before, always remember that God will reward you for giving to ministries and to people that are trying to get the word out.  I'm not saying this just for our ministry, but for anyone out there willing to spread God's word.

Think of all the simple ways you can donate to people.  Even by handing them a $5 bill, you are supporting them greatly.  Any way that people can help others' ministries, know that God is blessing those who give.  The only way that most ministries get off the ground is by God's people donating to their cause.  It's all these small ways that make the big differences in the lost, and even in the lives of God's people.

Once again, thank you for sharing, as I try to remember to share as well.  God bless you, and have a great Monday!

Much love as always, Tara K

NYC & Booger Holler

There are such extremes in population in a place like New York City compared to a place like Booger Holler, Arkansas.  (And yes, that's a real place.  It's either Holler or Hollow.  But they say, "holler," so that's how I spell it.)

Anyhoo I find that in these extremes there is such a different atmosphere and way of life.  In bigger cities, obviously there will be more crime just because of the greater number alone.  But also, people feel they really have to fend for themselves.  And I can firsthand say that people in NYC are so helpful and they really pull together to help each other out, as they did on 9/11.  But there's still this fact that you've just gotta keep truckin', you've gotta look out for Number One.  In a small town, everyone knows everyone and all of their business in between, even if it's not truth.  And I like both.  I like the big city and the country.  They're just two totally different lifestyles.  And they're both exhilarating in their own ways.  We can find out so much about ourselves and others in both circumstances that each place brings.

I'd like to have Jesus with me when I go to these places, see what He would do exactly.  What would he do while He was there... I mean, if he wasn't busy performing miracles...

I wonder if we live life all wrong, if we're even close to doing what He would do, spending our time this or that way.  I dunno.  Just a thought.

I pray you find new adventures and ways of life today, a new and exciting addition to your journey.

World of Possibilities

Do you have a mission for the new year?  For the next few months, or even next week?  What about for tomorrow?

Sometimes I can get so caught up in what I'm gonna be doing in the future.  I'll think about what am I planning to do with this project, or that one, or should I do this to help this certain thing out... You know what I mean?  We all have these great intentions, even resolutions, that we're planning to do this year.  And that's stinkin' fantastic.  I have goals myself.  But what I sometimes lack is what I'm going to do tomorrow.  Not what I'm gonna actually DO, I've pretty much got all that lined up.  And even if I don't, something always comes up, working itself all out, get me?  But what I'm actually trying to say here is this;  what I want to know about myself is:  What am I gonna do for GOD tomorrow?

That's the question, don't ya think?  Tomorrow.  Not in the long run.  Not for this certain thing I'm working on, because that requires a lot of time in days, weeks, months, etc.  Tomorrow is key.  Who's day am I gonna make tomorrow?  Will it be a good or bad impression?  What am I gonna learn from God that day?  How can I make my home life a better place?  What food choices can I make, from my personal expense choices, to better this body God has so graciously given?  What kind of mark will I leave as a Christian tomorrow in every single person I come across?  Will I give grace, or will I hold a grudge?  Will I self-sacrifice, or will I get in front?  Will I work for God or will I work for me?

Today I am not giving you any sort of revelation that you haven't thought of or heard yourself.  I'm just throwin' some questions out there that I need to think of before I go to sleep and as soon as I wake up.

Happy New Year, 2009, Gorgeous People!
