Love Song

love Pictures, Images and Photos

The lyrics of a song can say so much more than complete sentences in a few paragraphs at times.  This morning, so many people were talking about what a beautiful morning it was today, so I've attached some song lyrics that comply with just that:

Beautiful day warming my skin

Wakin' me up, my God's velvet touch

Sunlight on my face, shimmers of light

The sounds of the day

Revive the joy within, you let me live again

Sing our love song to me

Breathe music in my ears

Erase my consistent fears

Sing your love song to me

Hold me tenderly, jesus sing your love song to me

No matter what comes our way

A hand holds on and ever keeps us strong

Hold us high, shield us with grace

So we feel alive

Abandoned and knowing

You are on our side

Sing our love song to me

Breathe music in my ears

Erase my consistent fears

Sing your love song to me

Hold me tenderly, jesus sing your love song to me

Hallelujah to the one who sings to me

Hallelu, hallelujah to the only risen king

Hallelujah to the time honored name

Hallelu, hallelujah I give credit to the name, to the name that sings

His love song to me

Who breathes music in my ears

Erases my consistent fears

So sing your love song to me

Hold me tenderly, jesus sing your love song to me

Sing your love song

Prayer for Protection

Prayer Jabez Pictures, Images and Photos
I stumbled across this today, and thought you would enjoy it...

MY PRAYER FOR PROTECTION

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the priceless gift
of knowing and serving the Lord Jesus.
Forgive me for my frivolous attitude about sin
and my insensitivity to the things that grieve Your heart.
How deeply I desire to live a life of holiness
and to please You in every way.
Today I echo the words of Jesus when I plead,
"Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from evil."
Please, Lord, keep me from evil,
that I may not cause pain to You, or others, or myself.
Instead, may I bring delight to You
and may Your will be done on earth
as it is in heaven, beginning here with me.
Amen.

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultess before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever.  Amen."  Jude 1:24-25

It All Comes Back

http://www.manleyvbs.com

Okay, so my week of VBS is coming to a close.  We've had numerous salvations.  (More than 40 by Wednesday!)  We've learned our ABC's... not the alphabet, but The Accept, Believe, Confess kind of ABC's.  We've hung out with real kangaroos... which was suhweet!  We learned how to (and how not to) play with others.  We made new friendships.  We've learned how to spread God's Good News a little more affectively.

It's a little early in the morning for me (8:50am), so I'm perhaps not comprehending everything just yet.  But I'm sure the power of its entirety will hit me within the next couple of weeks.

As an adult, most of us think that vacation bible school is for the kids.  And yes.  That's who its about and for.  But if we allow ourselves, we can grow just as much as they can in this week.  (And if you're not involved in it at a church, I suggest you go ahead and find a place to get ready for next year!)

These are some phrases we repeated often in bible school through Lifeway's Boomerang Express worship songs:

Yes to the blessing of studying God's Word.
A tiny kids phrase that will bless even the most mature adult.  We say, yes, to be blessed!  How do we do this?  By studying the bible.  Yeah, yeah.  Okay.  You've heard that before; you know that by heart.  But how powerful is that phrase?  And the more we study, the more blessed we will be!

Because He gave His life, because He bled and died, because He rose again, I come.
He did a lot for us that no one would do.  Giving his life, dying, and most importantly, coming back to life... for us!  THAT is why we come.  Not because we love to sing.  Not because we love to dance.  Not because we love to teach.  Not because we wanna join our friends.  Not because that's what Christians do- Go to church. ONLY BECAUSE of what HE did.

No matter where you go, or what you do, the most important thing in life is that you choose to live for Jesus.
It doesn't matter what your position.  It doesn't matter what kind of house you live in.  It doesn't matter where you choose to be.  Nothing matters more than living for Jesus.  Nothing.  That should mean our every day choices, and the words we choose, should be chosen to glorify Jesus.  It's not about fitting in.  It's not about blending.  It's not about just making others happy, or making peace for peace's sake.  It's about the choices Jesus would make, and hopefully, we're striving to make the same decisions.

It all comes back to Jesus, Tara K

Real Life=Good Lessons.

Good Lessons+Activating To Real Life=A Difference in People Around You

When life gets hectic, we can either take a close look at the why's, or we can look at them as an obstacle and try to just get over it as fast as possible.

So if real life is giving us obstacles, do we use those obstacles to make you stronger?  If so, we're gonna be making a huge difference, not only in our own life, but especially in those around us.

Just one more way we can love [our] neighbor[s] as ourself.

It, what?  FEELS GOOD.  That's right.  Seems to be the theme lately.

That, and, It all comes back to Jesus.  Boomerang Express, VBS 2009

Love ya much, Tara K

P.S.  Guys.  Will you unite with me in prayer, praying for restoration and an everlasting peace that passes all understanding, for my buddy who is in the hospital today?  Thank you incredibly much!  You know prayer makes a difference!

Not Worse than the Other

We are all the same, and sometimes claws come out... even if they are puppy-sized.

I mess up.  You mess up.

You may see your faults as less or more sinful than mine.

I make the mistake of thinking that one sin is worse than the other sometimes too.

They're not.

-Talking negatively behind someone's back is gossip (no matter how you justify it), and slanders someone's name.  SIN.
-Checkin' out other people (other than your ONLY significant other) is adultery with your eyes.  SIN.
-Doing what you feel like on the Sabbath, instead of keeping it completely holy, is what?  SIN.
-Wanting to be like someone on earth more than you wanna be like Jesus?  SIN.
-Wanting what someone else has?  SIN.

We all know these things.  The list goes on forever, and we'll never be able to keep up.

But that's no reason not to try.

We'll get better at it every day that we do.  And slowly, we'll find ourselves rarely in that addictive habitual or familiar sin.  It makes it a lot easier when those are out of the way.

And as hard as it is sometimes, don't judge others when they fall.  Most of the time, people are trying just like you are to be pure... we all fall in our own certain areas though, right?

And one is not worse than the other.

Loving you, Tara K

Buhluuuuuduh

Sometimes it's hard to take kids seriously.  But they have bigger hearts than adults most of the time, don't you agree?  When was the last time an adult looked at you with stars in their eyes, and told you they thought you were "soooo preeeeetty?"  Or the last time an adult came up to you, squeezed you with all their might in a nothing-but-pure-love hug, just because the sight of you made them burst with joy?

Are we at fault?  Do adults not wanna do that with us because we don't treat them as great as we do a kid?  Or is it because kids are just better people?

Surely not.  At what point did we evolve away from Jesus' love?

It's so assuring when you see Jesus in such a tiny little body.  I wanna be a kid again.  Or at least give you a pretty tight hug.

Feels good.

Love ya much, Tara K

Sunday Night Services

Empty Church Pictures, Images and Photos
(Is this really what the seats should look like in a church?  Empty?)

I recently heard the quote that goes a little something like this:

"I don't come to church on Sunday nights because I'm uncomfortable praying out loud.  We should change the service..."

I don't even know who said it, but as a Sunday Night Attendee, I can tell you about 85% of the church must have to feel the same way because we only run about 25-50 on a Sunday night at our personal church.  And it's not just my church.  I've talked to several churches about their Sunday night services.  It seems there is a trend.

So let's problem solve and get to the bottom of this for everyone's best interests.  (And I'm not talking about our comfortableness either.)

Okay.  Well let's start at the beginning.  Our Sunday night service (at the church I particularly attend) is titled, "Prayer and Praise."  And we do just that.  There is no "set" line-up to the night either.  The pastor lets the spirit lead.  He often comes with an agenda, a Word, but we don't always go with it.  Actually, most of the time, we don't.  We usually end up saying out loud the great things God has done for us this past week.  NOBODY CRITICIZES THE CHURCH OR ONE ANOTHER.  NO ONE "SPEAKS THEIR MIND" ABOUT "ISSUES" THEY MAY BE HAVING WITH OTHER PEOPLE OR WITH THE CHURCH.  THIS IS NOT A MEETING OF THE ELITES.  We often have folks that don't even attend our church that come on Sunday nights because they just need prayer and/or want to pray for others, just as God asks of us.  We will also end up praying for something urgent, or something that's been on someone's heart for a long time.  SOME FOLKS DON'T SAY A WORD, SOME FOLKS PRAY ALOUD.  So if you are concerned about feeling out of place, then don't.  If you just wanna sit back, relax in what God is doing, then do that.  I cannot stress enough how no one judges you... especially on a Sunday night.

Listen, on Sunday mornings, church can be a lot of fluff and who's doing what.  I'm just being honest.  It can be that way, not saying that it always is.  But we are all human, and we fall.  I've actually noticed a beautiful thing in our church lately:

We've had to come together and just help.  Our former Worship Leader has moved on to new things the Lord had in store for him, and we are so thankful He is following what God wants of Him.  And this church stepped up.  At first, it may've even seemed like it may just be a rocky road.  That happens when there's change a lot.  But, man.  No one cares who is doing what.  Every one just wants to chip in where they can.  We've had numerous new choir members.  We have people always ready for the next "new change" or new thing... because everyone is just trying to make it work.  It's a beautiful thing.

Now.  Of all people, I should be supporting what some people might consider the "extras," as my hubby is the Worship Technology Director.  And don't get me wrong.  I love a heightened worship experience that enhances what I want to say to God, and to receive what He wants to say to me and do for me!  But I adore Sunday nights.  Sunday nights are my favorite service because we take away all the special lights, videos, people on "stage..."  And we simply rest in God's Presence.  Together.  We share.  We pray for each other.  We love on each other.  We listen.  We learn we're all just alike, but so very different, and we revel in that.  So if you're afraid to attend on Sunday nights, don't be.  It is just what it says:  Praise.  Prayer.  All about Him.

Doesn't He deserve that?  Or are we at home, watching the tv instead?  Or going out to dinner because you deserve a night off after your busy week?  Or spending time with your kids and family that you haven't gotten to be around because life gets tight in time.

Well, I tell you what.  There is nothing better for a marriage, a family, a Believer... than coming together in the Lord and with His people, growing and learning more about who gave you those relationships and blessings in the first place.  We are building one another up in the Lord, preparing each other to be the witnesses and people God has called us to be outside of the church walls.  You're tired?  Come and rest.  You're blessed?  Come and tell of His Excellent Greatness!  You need prayer?

You get the point.

"I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders."  Psalm 9:1

God doesn't want us to just pray for what we personally need.  He also commands that we pray for others.  How are you to do that?  Come together, and pray with and for one another.  I Timothy 2:1-6,

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."

We are to stand in the gap for one another.

"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."  Matthew 18:20

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy."

I am telling you this out of encouragement.  How long has it been since you've made the effort?  Do you consider that the enemy wants to distract you away from such a wonderful time of sharing and praise, which ultimately destroys his evil plans to "steal, kill and destroy" you?

Those are some powerful words:  steal.  kill.  destroy.

Do we not believe in prayer?  Then don't let the enemy destroy.  Unite!

All in love, and excited to see ya next week, Tara K  ;)

Wii Creator

Some friends of ours have a Wii.  They had us over to their house for mexican grub and a night of Wii.  I have to say- Quite a fun-filled (and embarrassing) night.  If you've seen Jim's facebook video of that night, you get the "embarrassing" part...

Anyhoo, my hubby and I wanted to get something for each other for our 7-Year Anniversary that would last a little bit longer than a 2-day vaca or a trip to an expensive restaurant.  So in light of how much fun we had at our friends' house... We got us a Wii.

It's now out of control.  We... Ok... I have made about 15 (or more!) characters... which is probably my favorite part of it all so far.  I love creating these fun little characters, and then having them show up in the games to play with/or against us!  So fun.  But it seriously takes me a pretty long time to make just a couple of these kids.

God does it all day long.

And seems to manage helping us out.

He's pretty amazing.  What am I saying?!  "Pretty amazing?"  There are no words to describe our Creator, our Provider, our Comforter, our Deliverer...

Our Savior.  The GodHead Three in One.

Being a Wii Creator, I feel kinda small.  ;)

Much love, Tara K

Feared & Protected

lightning Pictures, Images and Photos
Who heard that scary thunderstorm last night (if you live in East Tennessee)?  Whoas.  My husband and I woke up at the same time, and I decided I needed a cuddle.  Unfortunately, my dog, being, in fact, a dog, knew she needed a cuddle before I did.  She gladly took her spot next to "dad" before I could even get there.  So much for that.

The entire room was filling up with bright white light.  It was beautiful and frightening all at once.  You know the feeling.  You're amazed by what God can do... but just pray he would keep it all outside.

We eventually fell back asleep.  Subconsciously resting in His Protection.

Fearing God.  Protected by God.

Sounds like I should feel torn between the two.  But it's just right.

Somehow, it's just right.

In Love, Tara K

Such Great Heights

(For our 5-Year Anniversary, Justin and I had a hot air balloon ride over Lancaster, PA.)

Being deprived and dehydrated from having quite a large lack of good, stimulating music, I have found myself on another musical quest.  This has been one of the greatest discoveries, I tell ya.  I'm embarrassed to even say this, but I didn't expect to find much that would actually fluff my fancy.  But it found me.  And it found me good.  I'm now on Clever and Innovative Overload... and I love it.  God is such a little stinker.  (And I mean that with all the love in my little heart.)  Let's put it this way:  You know how you think what you want may just have to wait to get better once we get to our real home in heaven... Those things?  Oh!  And sometimes you don't even realize you've been missing out until you find that crispy, new discovery?  Wahoo!  Feels good.

Anyway.  Yeah.  I wanted to share some lyrics with ya today.  Yeah, I'm a songwriter.  But that definitely doesn't mean that I don't adore what other songwriters come up with.  You know how there are a lot of things in life that some people look at as a competition?  Songwriting and creativity is not one of those things, is it?  Didn't think so.  And you don't have to be a "Christian Artist" to get my attention.  I often see what these folks are really saying, just like I know you do as well.  Interpret as you wish.  I see our God written all over it.  (But that's just how it speaks to me.) Enjoy the words of Iron & Wine's, Such Great Heights:

...And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
Puzzle pieces from the clay

...and when you scan
The radio, I hope this song will guide you home

They will see us waving from such great
Heights, 'come down now,' they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
'come down now,' but we'll stay...

Beautiful, right?  I believe that God created us all to work together.  Sin is what pulls us apart and cracks the clay.  God will leave you on a spiritual high, and people may want you to come down from there.  It makes people scared to believe in God for some reason.  But that feeling you get from those great "heights" is the very reason to stay up there in His Presence.  Make 'em want what you got.

So peaceful.

Reminds me of 1 Chron. 16:8-36

For Those Not So Sure, & For Those Who Are

asteroid Pictures, Images and Photos
Extremely interesting! So I watched this show on The History Channel last night. It describes our world as we know in comparison with the confusing book of Revelation. When I was in high school, on Wednesday nights at church, we learned (or tried to learn) about the events in Revelation, The End Times. This is a 9 part video on YouTube taken from The History Channel. This video is for believers and non-believers alike. It will give you a look into Revelation in a way that is a little easier to understand than you've read or heard before. Enjoy!

To finish watching the rest of the  series (videos 3-9), tune in here every day for the next week.  I'll post 'em so you can get the whole thing. Enjoy!

Growing and learning with you, Tara K

Mystery Man

We are back!

Thank you, MeadowView, Hot Springs Assembly, and Independence Baptist for hosting us this weekend!  We had a blast, and were overly blessed by you all.

God is good.  He is unpredictable and beautiful in so many ways.

God wants us to learn new things about Him all the time.  He is so mysterious!  There is no way that we could every know everything!  He also wants us to take time to thank Him and praise Him for who He is.

Praise be to the God... who has blessed us... with every spiritual blessing in Christ.  For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight...  And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment-- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.  -Ephesians 1:3-10

One guy shared a beautiful testimony during the first concert of the weekend in Malvern, Arkansas.  He shared of how God had spared his life even when he was living a life that probably wasn't pleasing God.

As the scripture says, God is mysterious.  He wants bring us all together, to live under Him and through Him... IN Him.

This world is a hurting place.

But living together, as one...

On earth as it is in heaven...

In Love, Tara K

Scary House

House movie Pictures, Images and Photos

On the road again...

So we're on our way to Arkansas.  Pepper and I are chillin' in the back trying to soak up some life.  God blessed my husband with a bit of cloudy weather for the most part... not too fond of the sun, that man.  Just got done with some serious knitting.  Now we're renting movies thanks to sweet technology.  The movie, "House," in particular, is based on the book by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekkar.  One of my fave fictions yet.  Can't wait to watch this!  Of course, I'll have to... downloading...  ;D

Adios, and we will talk with y'all (and see some of you) soon.

Worthless Religion

(This is my Disney's The Kid face.  When I watch that movie, I can't help but do this over and over...)
Well, we will be on the road in a couple of days.  The entire month of June, 29:11 is gonna be keepin' the roads hot, which means we will see you face to face soon!  After having a few weeks (kinda) off, which was well-needed, we can't wait to get back out there and share with you all.

We've got some new stuff to add to the services and so forth, so we're pretty pumped about the upcoming visits with you!  Please pray for us that God will give us the right words, and that you can minister to us somehow too.  We all need to be continually growing through Christ, and a big way is by others letting Christ minister through them, which is what we hope you'll do with us and vice versa.

I have a quick passage for you today.  One that I always need to constantly go back to for myself.  It never ever gets old.

My dear brothers, take note of this:  Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does no bring about the righteous life that God desires.  Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.  Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does.

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.  Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:  to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

-James 1:19-27

Our world is pretty polluted.  Use the one true Light that will help you see through the smoke.

Away from God Pt II

Ocea deep Pictures, Images and Photos

But the Lord hurled a great wind upon the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship threatened to break up.Then the mariners were afraid, and each cried out to his god. And they hurled the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone down into the inner part of the ship and had lain down and was fast asleep. So the captain came and said to him, “What do you mean, you sleeper? Arise, call out to your god! Perhaps the god will give a thought to us, that we may not perish.”

And they said to one another, “Come, let us cast lots, that we may know on whose account this evil has come upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah. Then they said to him, “Tell us on whose account this evil has come upon us. What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? And of what people are you?” And he said to them, “I am a Hebrew, and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.” 10 Then the men were exceedingly afraid and said to him, “What is this that you have done!” For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them.

11 Then they said to him, “What shall we do to you, that the sea may quiet down for us?” For the sea grew more and more tempestuous.12 He said to them, “Pick me up and hurl me into the sea; then the sea will quiet down for you, for I know it is because of me that this great tempest has come upon you.” 13 Nevertheless, the men rowed hard [2] to get back to dry land, but they could not, for the sea grew more and more tempestuous against them. 14 Therefore they called out to the Lord, “O Lord, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not on us innocent blood, for you, O Lord, have done as it pleased you.” 15 So they picked up Jonah and hurled him into the sea, and the sea ceased from its raging. 16 Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows.

So what just happened here?  Well, because Jonah disobeyed God, He brought a storm to the waters.  Now, in our own life, when we disobey God and remove ourselves "from His Presence," God's gotta do something to make us realize what we've done even if we are not recognizing it.  Sometimes we DO know what we're doing wrong, but we still do it anyway.  So He sends a storm to shake us up, to open our eyes.

Now these guys threw him out to sea in an attempt to save themselves because they knew it was Jonah's fault.  Jonah told them of his faith and of his choices in how he had disobeyed God.  The scripture says that they cried out to their gods... not God, at first.  But by Jonah admitting his faults, and by telling them to sacrifice him and give up his life in order to save theirs, it is then that they start crying out to the One True God!  Sounds to me that, in our self-sacrifices, God will bring people to know Him.  They actually "feared" the Lord.  If they feared Him, they certainly believed in Him.

So when you find yourself in a situation where you know God is asking you to do something, do it.  But if the damage is already done, then offer yourself up to God, and He will certainly use you for His Greater Purpose.

In love, Tara K

Away from God Pt. 1

1. Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil [1] has come up before me.” But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went on board, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.

Our pastor has been teaching on the life of Jonah the past couple of weeks.  I think it applies to everyone, and it will always hit home, no matter where you are in your life.

What happens in this small passage?  Well, God told Jonah to do something.  He wanted him to go to a certain place to open the eyes of the people to show them that they weren't living right.  But Jonah was kinda scared of these people.  He knew they were a tough crowd.  So what did he do?  He bought a ticket taking him as far away as he could get from Tarshish;  he took himself "from the presence of the Lord."  The scripture actually says that!

Now I know that is never our intention when we shy away from something, no matter how big or small, that God has asked us to do.  But it puts a brand new perspective on it, right?  We actually remove ourselves from God's presence.  But by choosing to do the tough stuff instead, we actually have God with us!  So no need to fear, right?!  I don't know about you, but I need Him with me every step of the way.

Something to keep in mind, Tara K
